Originating as a first-generation college student in the dynamic landscape of city and county environments within The Promise Zone in St. Louis, Dr. Butler recognizes the profound influence of education, relationships, and faith on one’s life journey. Through divine grace, relentless effort, and support from numerous mentors, Dr. Butler has attained multiple degrees, including a Bachelors of Science in Medicinal Chemistry, Doctorate of Pharmacy, Masters in Business Administration, and Masters in Christian Leadership.
With over two decades of diverse experiences in patient care, pharmacy benefit management, ministry, and higher education, Dr. Butler stands as a highly skilled servant leader, executor, and coach. Currently serving as the Vice President for Campus Life and Chief Diversity Officer at the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis, Dr. Butler provides executive leadership to ensure students and employees are equipped for success and prepared to engage as responsible citizens in an ever-expanding global society.
As a Gallup certified StrengthsFinder coach, Dr. Butler owns a part-time career and life coaching practice called Think-Dream-Lead. Before venturing into higher education, he spent the majority of his career in the corporate healthcare sector, leading teams in sales, account management, audit, and product development.
Beyond his professional roles, Dr. Butler’s impact resonates deeply within various organizations. He has served on multiple boards, steering community foundations, university departments, and non-profits. Dr. Butler is a sought-after teacher, speaker, program developer, and workshop facilitator, frequently engaged by corporations, non-profits, and universities to unlock talent and nurture leadership. Faith-based organizations consistently seek his guidance to inspire, equip, and help individuals develop authentic, personal relationships with Christ.
Outside of his service to others, Dr. Butler enjoys quality time with family, passionately cheering at youth sporting events, engaging in physical exercise, and enriching his effectiveness through avid reading at home.
